- Nana is the daughter of dancers, choreographer Robert Tucker and ballet teacher Nenette Charisse
- On October 28 1995, she received the Best Supporting Actress in a Genre Television Series honor from the the Sci-Fi Universe Readers' Choice Universe awards.
- Son, Django El Tahir El Siddig, born 16 September 1996, was named for Django Reinhardt, a jazz musician. DS9 co-star Alexander Siddig is Django Siddig's father.
- Son, Buster, is from a previous marriage
- Niece, by marriage, of actress-dancer Cyd Charisse.
- She was accepted at Princeton but kept deferring and didn't go.
- Sister of actor Ian Tucker and actress Zan Charisse.
- Gave birth to her son, Django El Tahir El Siddig, during the filming of the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) episode "Let He Who Is Without Sin...". Not surprisingly, she did not appear in that episode.
