Biography
She moved to Spain with her father and brother in 1976 and started
acting. Her first major role was in 'Ivan Zuleta' (qv)'s _Arrebato
(1979)_ (qv). She appeared in 'Pedro Almodóvar' (qv)'s debut
feature _Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón (1980)_ (qv) and
went on playing in the director's _Laberinto de pasiones (1982)_
(qv), _Entre tinieblas (1983)_ (qv) and _¿Qué he hecho yo para
merecer esto?!! (1984)_ (qv). In 1995 she moved back to Argentina
and became a national star of TV, stage, and film. Besides
appearing in the U.S.-coproduced thriller _Stranger, The (1987/I)_
(qv), she mostly starred in Argentine films including _Lugar en el
mundo, Un (1992)_ (qv), hit detective drama _Cenizas del paraíso
(1997)_ (qv) and family drama _Martín (Hache) (1997)_ (qv), which
gained her Spain's Best Actress award. She teamed up with Almodóvar
again starring in _Todo sobre mi madre (1999)_ (qv).
